Haunted Shrooms Have Escaped!

Several centuries ago, a band of mischievous Shrooms ventured into a portal taking them to a dimension shrouded by evil and darkness. Upon arrival, they were met with whispering voices that lured them deep into the woods daring them to consume the glowing fruits hanging from the trees. The Shrooms ate the fruits and were transported on a frightening journey that exposed the darkest parts of their consciousness. Unknown to how much time had passed, the shrooms woke from their slumber and realized that their bodies had mutated from prolonged exposure to the atmosphere in this dimension.

Feeling trapped and homesick, the Shrooms called for Fungaseus to help them out of this dimension. Heeding their call, Fungaseus opened the portal and was shocked by the sight of the Shrooms. Unable to reverse the effects of these mutations, Fungaseus was fearful of it spreading to the other Shroom citizens, so he sealed the portal with a powerful spell leaving the Haunted Shrooms behind never to be seen again. However these Shrooms survived and adapted by learning how to conjure magical items that helped them thrive in the harsh environment of this dimension.

Over time, the knowledge of these Shrooms were forgotten and lost to history. Until recently, the walls of space were weakened by the birth of Polygon sending ripples through all dimensions diminishing the power of the spell that bound the portal. This opened up a small crack allowing 100 Haunted Shrooms to escape and wreak havoc on the Polygon metaverse!

Back in ShroomTopia, the citizens went about their livelihoods unbeknownst of what is coming for them 👀.
